Our Daycare regular hours Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. While occasional lateness due to unforeseen circumstances are allowed, overtime fees will apply should you pick up your child after or before regular business hours. If you will be picking up your child after 6:00 PM, please be aware that overtime fees are $10/hour. We will be closed if the state is under severe or threatening weather conditions: tornadoes, blizzards, and severe wind chills and/or temperatures. In such situations, please call us to ensure that we are open before you get on your way. Due to the unpredictability of weather related closing, payments will not be prorated. Parents are responsible for finding their own back up arrangements should a weather related closing occur.

We recommend that you drop off your child between the hours of 8:00 AM and 8:20 AM to ensure sufficient time for breakfast. Please do not allow your child to walk to the door by themselves at drop off. It is important safety precaution to walk your child to the door and greet us, thus ensuring our acknowledgement of your child’s presence. At pick up, please do not let your child leave the Daycare until you are leaving as well. To ensure the safety of your child, only you or your designate(s) may pick up your child. Phoning us to let us know someone other than yourself will be picking up your child is fine if we know the person or your child can identify him or her. Person picking up your child will required to present photo ID. We must have a copy of the court order recognizing the parent who has legal custody of the child, as well as visitation schedules. Otherwise we have no choice except to release the child to his/her parent.

Communication is very important to us. When we accept new child into our care, we like to be sure that we can share openly any concerns or questions that may arise. We feel that we are a team raising your child. We welcome questions, feedback, or discussions of any kind that affect a positive outcome for the child. Sensitive issues will be discussed outside of regular hours either by letter, phone or a scheduled conference. The hours between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM are usually quit hours and are recommended if you need to call us to discuss any issues and/or concerns or simply find out how your child is doing.

We provide a wide variety of playthings. We ask that no toys be brought to daycare from home. Anything brought will be put safely until the child is picked up. This policy is for the concern of all children in our care. Children often have a hard time sharing toys they bring from home. Exceptions may be - blanket or stuffed animal to be used during the nap time. This will be put up and ONLY used for the appropriate time. Please limit your child to one item.

While in our care, only positive encouragement is enforced. Children will NOT be subject to spanking, hitting, kicking, restraint, or to verbal, emotional, or physical punishment. We believe that most effective ways of enforcing positive behaviors are praise, respect, redirection and positive reinforcement. We use strategies to engage children in their own problem solving. During conflict, it is important for children to feel respected, secure, loved, important and special. They need to know we are always available to listen and help, not to judge. Our goal is to coach the children so that they can compromise, brainstorm and work it out together. If something of a more serious nature or a persistent behavior should occur that is of concern to us or a treat to the safety of others, we will need to discuss it with you so that we can jointly decide on a course of action that is followed at home and in our care. If the problem cannot be resolved, parents will be required to make all necessary arrangements for the child to receive care elsewhere.
